A new year and a new home!
The Second Annual Community Carnival and Cookout hosted by the Penns Hills Rotary and the North Bessemer Volunteer Fire Department will take place at Friendship Park on July 6th and will run until July 9th.
The Carnival and Cookout is looking to draw an estimated 2,000-3,000 people with all proceeds going to the rotary and fire department.
There will be a variety of vendors, foods, children's rides, and other activities for the family to enjoy. The carnival itself will be free but there will be charges for the ride.
Also, for all my gambling friends there will be an opportunity to cash in as there will be raffles including a 50/50 raffle sponsored by the Penn Hills high school cheerleaders.
Various vendors from local businesses will be there, including but not limited to Griff’s Grounds coffee, Puzzle Room Pittsburgh, the Steel City Rowing Club, and You See Toys.
Since this is America and we have an obsession with loud explosions I am sure there will be fireworks. That is not confirmed but I’m going to make the educated guess that there will be opportunities to hear loud booms in the sky.
So if you're looking for something to do this weekend, check it out. These types of events not only bring a sense of community but also support good causes and prop up local businesses.
We are nothing without our community.
